Requesting Funds from the HWS:
Care packages, including food samples and supplies, will be sent, upon request, for each hedgehog that is rescued/adopted from a neglectiful,
harmful, or unwanted situation. Requests for care packages should be sent to Jennifer Plombon at advohws@aol.com.
Monetary funding for veterinary expenses may be requested for hedgehogs who are resuced neglectful, harmful, or unwanted situations. The executive board of the HWS will evaluate the availability of funds on a case-by-case basis. We cannot guarantee
funding for every rescue situation, but we do our best based on available funds.
Monetary requests should be sent to the Chief Financial Officer of the HWS at donnasue.graesser@aya.yale.edu. She will send you a fund request form, that must be filled out and returned prior to disbursement of funds. The HWS will provide re-imbursement only after
we receive a valid receipt from the treating veterinary hospital. The receipt must indicate that the treatment was provided to a HEDGEHOG.
Funding may be requested to offset the adoption fee of a hedgehog from a legitimate, non-profit animal shelter or rescue organization, where the fee is used to support the animals in the shelter, and no individual profit is derived from the fee.
The HWS does NOT provide funds for the purchase of hedgehogs from any individual or a pet store.
The HWS has set a "funding cap" at $50.00 per hedgehog, so that our funds may be distributed to the greatest number of hedgehogs possible. However, we are limited by available funds, and the amount we are able to provide may be less.

Please don't hesitate to request funds for any rescued hedgehog. You have helped to raise this money to benefit hedgehogs, let's put it to good use!
