Natasha Klukach’s European Adoption Story:

Natasha Klukach’s European Hedgehog, Natasha, at The Finnish Hedgehog Society.

I asked specifically for a Finnish hedgehog and today I just heard from Tiina about my new adoptee. Tiina decided to name her Natasha in my honour which I thought was sweet, though I am sure the Finnish hedgehogs with whom she hangs out are teasing her for having a Russian name! I've appended the story from Tiina below. I was happy to hear about this hedgie and her caretaker.

Hello Natasha,

Thank you very much for your help. I do appreciate it.

The hedgehog I take care of now has lung worms. And a really bad cough. She is already getting better and all the time she has eaten well. So she has not been in real danger. I send you now one photo I took last autumn. In the photo she is with one of her babies. I have now called her Natasha, I hope you don't mind.

I took care of the wild hedgehogs in my garden. Last summer there visited 22 hedgehogs every evening. I moved to another place this May and now I'm trying to help people to take care of the hedgies. Also I visit often my old home and this sick hedgehog lady is there. We built houses for hedgehogs and Natasha is living in one of them. I try to take a good photo of her soon, hopefully when she's well again.

It's so nice to have friends far away who share my love to hedgehogs. :)

Best wishes,
Tiina

Hello Natasha,

Natasha the Hedgehog is well again. No cough and she's eating well. She's getting back her beautiful round shape.

Now it's time to get new photos, I don't know why it's so difficult for me to take photos of sick hedgehogs.

I have now five wild hedgehogs I give food every day, they are well and wild. They have no sicknesses and I'm waiting to see new babies soon.

Best wishes,
Tiina
