Kimberly Clark's European Adoption Story:
Kimberly Clark's European Hedgehog Mocha, at Hedgehog Friends of Denmark.
June 23rd, 2003
Hi Kim,
June 18th I got a phone call from a VERY kind man.
He had been busy in his garden and found a hedgehog just beside his hedge.
It was laying still and not responding to him at all.
"Foam" were coming out of the nose and the poor thing didn't look well at all.
One hour later the hedgehog arrived here.
It was a boy with a very bad pneumia, a heavy cold, very dehydrated and A LOT of ticks.
He had that many he actually got anemia (not sure this is the right word).
His weight was 627 grams.
I started him on antibiotic, cleaned his "snotty" nose, gave him lots and lots of herb tea to drink.
After that he was put down in his box...and he went eating like a crazy right away.
He didn't mind dog, cats, humans around him: HE was eating LOL.
And eating !
And fell asleep in his food bowl....only to wake up and eat more.
He got some hours rest and then I started taking away all the ticks.
Yesterday his weight was 771 grams...he is responding very well to his antibiotic...and is gaining strength and weight ;-)
Attached are some pictures of him.
I am looking forward to hear what name you find for him.
Warm thoughts and thank you so much for caring,
Kis

Hi Kimberly,
Well Mocha turned out to be a real escaper...he-he.
Attached are some picures of him trying to escape through a way to small whole in his box (a few days ago).
I had to cut him free.
Yesterday evening he was picked up by the people who found him.
They made a nice hedgehog-corner in their garden for him.
And I am sure they will keep an eye on him.
Mocha and I mail many warm thoughts,
Kis
