Laura Wetterau's European Adoption Story:

Laura Wetterau’s European Hedgehog Izzy, at Hedgehog Friends of Denmark.

June 12th, 2003

Hi Laura,

Your 2'end European Adoption is a boy :-) And what a fighter he is. Some teenagers were playing soccer and one of the boys stayed a little after the game. He found a hedgehog stuck in a footballnet (at a place that was not used a lot). He cut him free....and took him home wrapped in his soccer-shirt. Looked me up on the internet (and they say young people are mis-using the internet...sesssh). He got his dad to drive the unlucky little fellow to me... but sat with him under his shirt during the drive.

He (the hedgie-boy) still had some of the net tied pretty close around his left hindleg....I took that away...and the boy who found him (Niels) was so intense busy with helping me. It was great. The hedgie-boy was lucky...no flyeggs or maggots.... BUT he did have som ticks around the eyes...if you look closely I think you can spot them on the picture. He is eating, drinking just fine now...but is still a bit frustrated from this very scary experience. So I give him Bach Rescue Remedy. His weight is now 556 grams...not a "big boy"...but he will be.

Warm thoughts,
Kis

Hi Laura,

Thank you so much for your support. Izzy is a free boy now. I found a great place for him to be released. No cars, no dogs....a lot of natural food :-)

With a champ weight on 908 grams he is ready to face the world ;-)

Thank you so much for your support,

Izzy (out looking for ladies) and Kis
